Chrono Trigger remake possible, says Takashi Tokita

Posted by: Duelist Dx on April 3, 2008 at 5:41 pm

The director of Final Fantasy IV DS has been interviewed in Nintendo Power’s May issue, and talked about a possible Chrono Trigger remake: “Chrono Trigger was a no-holds-barred, swashbuckling adventure that was a lot of fun to work on… If the demand is great enough, it’s certainly possible. But as a creator, I feel the need to create new titles and not just series installments and remakes. I realize it’s a little strange for me to be saying that in an interview about Final Fantasy IV (laughs). But I need to remind myself of that, too.”

So although it might be possible if the demand is big enough, he himself is against it. That makes sense, but we all hope he’ll be convinced otherwise!

The latest issue of Nintendo Power features a ten page exclusive on Final Fantasy IV. While the magazine doesn’t really confirm the game is headed towards North America (or gives us a release date), the ten pages are filled with English screenshots of the game. If that’s not a huge hint, what is? We’ll make sure to get those screenshots as soon as possible!

Final Fantasy VII Remake Hints

Posted by: Duelist Dx on March 22, 2008 at 7:15 am

Perhaps we are still getting the long awaited Final Fantasy 7 Remake!

1UP has conducted an interview with Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII’s director, Hajime Tabata, and once they asked him if the game marks the compilation’s finale, he answered:

“No, it does not. The Compilation’s finale will take some other form.”

This doesn’ t neccesarly mean it being a remake of Final Fantasy 7, but it does give us some hope, and at least confirmation for another masterpiece in the saga of Final Fantasy 7!
