Final Fantasy XI 2008 Edition to be released in Europe

Square Enix has announced that it will be releasing Final Fantasy XI 2008 Edition across Europe on May 23, 2008 for the Xbox 360 and PC. The new edition includes the original game and all available expansions: Rise of the Zilart, Chains of Promathia, Treasures of Aht Urghan and the latest expansion pack Wings of the Goddess.

John Yamamoto, president and chief executive officer of Square Enix Ltd. comments:

“The world of FINAL FANTASY XI continues to grow with both new content and new players. FINAL FANTASY XI 2008 Edition allows interested players to join the adventure with the bonus of all the expansion pack content. I hope many more players enjoy and experience the exciting world of Vana’diel and all that FINAL FANTASY XI has to offer.”

New changes planned in Final Fantasy XI’s March update

Square Enix has decided to introduce some more changes scheduled for the upcoming March version update: · Emotes
Due to popular demand, the following new emote commands will be added. Now you can dance just like a real dancer, regardless of job, location, or situation!

/dance2
/dance3
/dance4

· New Items
The “Emperor Band” will be added to the list of enchanted items that offer a bonus to experience points or limit points. Along with existing items, “Empress Band” and “Chariot Band,” the “Emperor Band” can be obtained by trading your individual conquest points. Please note, however, that only one of the above three can be equipped at any given time.

After quite a few years Square Enix has finally decided to launch a new official Final Fantasy XI website in English. The website doesn’t feature any information that can’t be found on the PlayOnline website, but hey, at least it looks better. » Go to: Official Final Fantasy XI website
